Dannette If there’s one thing that’s a constant battle in this house, it’s CHORES. they’re usually met with whining, fighting, finger pointing and sometimes even hiding (and I’m not just describing the kids)? especially when it’s a new thing we’re asking of them, it gets ugly. but it doesn’t take long for them to find joy in it. we might have to literally drag them out of the house, but the fresh air and task at hand transforms them.
when they first started bringing in wood it was disaster, and let’s be honest, some days it still is. but there are moments like this that make my heart smile. when i catch them enjoying it and even working together.
work is necessary. it’s hard. but we were made for it. we’re a bit lost and listless without it I believe, and so are our precious kids! so stay the course mommas. give those little and big ones of yours tasks and chores so that they can reap the rewards. let’s not protect them so much that they miss out on the blessings of doing hard things!
