I’ve been working hard on the decor for our local IF:Gathering. It’s been a lot of hand painting, heave-hoing, and dumpster diving. But what’s new? It’s just another daughter/dad project to add to the memory bank full of coffee binges, splinters, stripping screws, and home depot runs … Yep, that’s how we roll.
Here are some of the photos of the event and the things we put together. One of my favorites (and a back breaker at that) was this custom photo booth my dad and hubby helped be build out of pallets.
I also scavenged the local goodwill and resale shops for pretty little teacups and dishes for the centerpieces. As usual, it was a small budget so we did our best to find old/used pieces that we could put a modern twist on. We ended up buying succulents and creating the sweetest little potted plants.
We ran kraft paper down the tables and drew placemats for each seat. We even had some of the women come and pray over each chair and write words of encouragement.
I also swagged lights, hung dried lavender from burlap string, and made large flowers out of old sheets.
Our string art IF sign also made another appearance this year 🙂 But we mounted it to some wood boards and paired it with a hand painted welcome sign.
